Creation of Barrio Fortuna in Marcos, Ilocos Norte
Republic Act No. 6440, enacted on June 17, 1972, establishes Barrio Fortuna as an independent barrio within the Municipality of Marcos, Ilocos Norte, by separating it from the southern portion of Barrio Daquioag. The boundaries of Barrio Fortuna are defined by Don Andres Road to the north, Nagustuan Road to the east, the Espiritu Town boundary to the south, and the National Road to the west. The barrio will officially begin its corporate existence following the election of its first officials, which is to occur immediately after the Act's approval under the supervision of the Commission on Elections. The law takes effect upon its approval.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6440
AN ACT CREATING BARRIO FORTUNA IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARCOS, PROVINCE OF ILOCOS NORTE
SECTION 1. The southern portion of Barrio Daquioag (formerly Alabaan) in the Municipality of Marcos, Province of Ilocos Norte, is hereby separated from the said barrio and constituted into a distinct and independent barrio of said municipality, to be known as Barrio Fortuna. acd
Barrio Fortuna shall be bounded as follows:
"On the North by Don Andres Road; on the East by the sitio of Nagustuan Road; on the South by the Espiritu Town boundary; and on the West by the National Road."
SECTION 2. The corporate existence of the new barrio shall commence when the first barrio officials shall have been elected in an election to be held immediately after the approval of this Act under the supervision of the Commission on Elections and shall have qualified. casia
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
