Creation of an Oversight Committee on the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)

SUPREME COURT MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 08-07
CREATING AN OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE ON THE INTEGRATED BAR OF THE PHILIPPINES (IBP)
Pursuant to the plenary powers of this Court in all cases regarding the admission to and supervision of the practice of law, and in the interest of raising the standards of the legal profession, improving the administration of justice, enabling the IBP to discharge its public responsibility more effectively, and ensuring the continued sustainability of its nationwide legal aid efforts and the efficient and effective disposition of bar discipline cases, the Supreme Court Oversight Committee on the Integrated Bar of the Philippines is hereby created and composed by —

The Oversight Committee on the IBP shall meet as often as necessary to attend to such matters as may be referred to it by the Court or the Chief Justice and recommend courses of action to facilitate their disposition.
The members of the Oversight Committee shall be entitled to receive expense allowances authorized in Administrative Circular No. 13-99 issued on 30 September 1999.
This Memorandum Order shall take effect upon its issuance this 14th day of February 2007.
