Republic Act No. 8285, enacted on May 3, 1997, converts the Pagadian City Comprehensive High School in Barangay Banale into a national institution, now named the Pagadian City National Comprehensive High School. This act transfers all personnel, assets, liabilities, and records from the former school to the new national school. The Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports is tasked with overseeing the conversion and operation of the school. Funding for the implementation of this act will be included in the annual General Appropriations Act following its enactment. The law took effect upon its approval, having lapsed into law without the President's signature.

AN ACT CONVERTING THE PAGADIAN CITY COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL IN BARANGAY BANALE, PAGADIAN CITY, INTO A NATIONAL COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE PAGADIAN CITY NATIONAL COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. The Pagadian City Comprehensive High School in Barangay Banale, Pagadian City, is hereby converted into a national comprehensive high school to be known as the Pagadian City National Comprehensive High School.
SECTION 2. All personnel, assets, liabilities, and records of the Pagadian City Comprehensive High School are transferred to and absorbed by the Pagadian City National Comprehensive High School. aisadc
SECTION 3. The Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports shall take the necessary steps for the conversion and operation of the school and for the effective implementation of this Act.
SECTION 4. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
