Conversion of Municipal District of Itogon in Benguet, Mountain Province into a Municipality
Republic Act No. 616, approved on May 15, 1951, officially converts the municipal district of Itogon in the sub-province of Benguet, Mountain Province, into a regular municipality named Itogon. The current municipal officials, including the mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors, will retain their positions and responsibilities until new officials are elected and qualified. This Act is effective immediately upon its approval.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 616
AN ACT TO CONVERT THE MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF ITOGON, SUB-PROVINCE OF BENGUET, MOUNTAIN PROVINCE, INTO A REGULAR MUNICIPALITY TO BE KNOWN AS THE MUNICIPALITY OF ITOGON
SECTION 1. The municipal district of Itogon, sub-province of Benguet, Mountain Province, is hereby converted into a new municipality to be known as Municipality of Itogon.
SECTION 2. The present municipal district mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors shall continue as such officials of the new municipality with the powers and duties of the same in regular municipalities and shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected and qualified. cdt
