Batas Pambansa Blg. 545, enacted on June 24, 1983, converts the La Carlota City High School in La Carlota into a national high school, now named the Doña Hortencia Salas Benedicto National High School. The school will continue to be funded by local resources and national aid during the current fiscal year, with future funding to be determined in subsequent General Appropriations Acts. This law took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on April 30, 1984.

AN ACT CONVERTING THE LA CARLOTA CITY HIGH SCHOOL IN THE CITY OF LA CARLOTA INTO A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE DOÑA HORTENCIA SALAS BENEDICTO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. The La Carlota City High School in the City of La Carlota is converted into a national high school to be known as the Doña Hortencia Salas Benedicto National High School.
SECTION 2. The operation of said school for the current fiscal year shall continue to be funded out of local funds and from its share of national aid to local schools. The requirements for succeeding fiscal years shall be provided in the forthcoming General Appropriations Acts.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. asia dc
