BATAS PAMBANSA BLG. 482
AN ACT CONVERTING THE BAYBAY NATIONAL COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE AND TECHNOLOGY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SINILOAN, PROVINCE OF LAGUNA, INTO A STATE POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE TO BE KNOWN AS THE LAGUNA STATE POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. The Baybay National College of Agriculture and Technology in the Municipality of Siniloan, Province of Laguna, is converted into a state polytechnic college to be known as the Laguna State Polytechnic College. casia
SECTION 2. The College shall primarily provide professional and advanced vocational and technical instructions and training in agriculture, fisheries, forestry and industrial technologies. It shall also promote research, advanced studies, and progressive leadership in its field of specialization.
SECTION 3. In addition to its present secondary and collegiate offerings, the College shall offer undergraduate and graduate courses in the fields of agriculture, fishery, forestry, and industrial technologies as the Board of Trustees may deem necessary to carry out its objectives. It shall also offer opportunity or short term technical or vocational courses within its areas of specialization to meet the needs of the region.
SECTION 4. The governance and administration of the College shall be in accordance with the provisions of Presidential Decree Numbered Fourteen hundred and thirty-seven.
SECTION 5. The existing appropriations for the Baybay National College of Agriculture and Technology are hereby transferred to the Laguna State Polytechnic College, to be disbursed in accordance with the provisions of this Act. Thereafter, the necessary amount required for the operation and maintenance of the college shall be provided for in subsequent General Appropriations Acts, until which time the operation of the institution as a college shall be deferred, provided that its new name shall take effect upon approval of this Act. cd i
SECTION 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
