WHEREAS, in a Resolution dated 30 June 2015 in A.M. No. 15-06-10-SC, the Court en banc approved the full roll out of the proposed Guidelines for Continuous Trial of Criminal Cases in Pilot Courts, which took effect on 17 August 2015 and implemented by the Office of the Court Administrator (OCA), in cooperation with The Asia Foundation (TAF);
WHEREAS, to fully implement the Continuous Trial project, the OCA through TAF, deployed teams of legal researchers and sent them to the participating courts for Mid-Term Assessment and data gathering;
WHEREAS, TAF has been tasked to consolidate the results of the Mid-Term Assessment and report to OCA;
WHEREAS, there is a need to assist TAF in monitoring the implementation of the Continuous Trial project.
NOW, THEREFORE, to assist TAF in monitoring the implementation of the Continuous Trial project, all judges and clerks of court of the first and second level courts under the Continuous Trial project are hereby required to:
1. Continuously monitor from 17 August 2015 until 5 February 2016 the status of active criminal cases pending before their respective courts;
2. Accomplish the attached Continuous Trial Monitoring Form by indicating the status of the pending criminal cases from 17 August 2015 until 5 February 2016;
3. Submit to TAF electronic or hard copies of the Continuous Trial Monitoring Form on or before 22 February 2016 (Monday) by:
