ACT NO. 3363
AN ACT APPROPRIATING ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTION OR PURCHASE OF AN ELECTRIC LIGHT, POWER, AND ICE PLANT IN THE CULION LEPER COLONY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
SECTION 1. The sum of one hundred thousand pesos, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the construction or purchase for the Culion Leper Colony of an electric power and ice plant with its accessories, such as refrigerating room, lighting and steam service, including buildings, fixtures, and equipment.
SECTION 2. This appropriation shall be under the control of the Secretary of Public Instruction who shall determine whether the plant and accessories shall be constructed or purchased.
SECTION 3. Should the Secretary of Public Instruction decide upon the construction of the plant, the Bureau of Public Works or its representatives shall undertake the work on the date that the said Secretary may fix. In case that the Secretary of Public Instruction should decide to purchase a plant and accessories already existing, he shall have authority to include in the purchase all the appurtenances of the plant and determine the price.
SECTION 4. The cost of the operation of the plant herein authorized to be constructed or purchased shall be reimbursable from the receipts derived for services rendered, the prices of which shall be regulated by the Director of Health with the approval of the Department Head.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
