Code of Ethics and a Media Code for the Philippine Motion Picture Industry
Letter of Instructions No. 798, issued on January 24, 1979, mandates the Board of Censors for Motion Pictures in the Philippines to adopt and enforce the Philippine Motion Picture Industry Code of Ethics and the Media Code. These codes were developed by industry members in collaboration with the former Bureau of Standards for Mass Media in 1974. WHEREAS, members of the Philippine Motion Picture Industry, in collaboration with the defunct Bureau of Standards for Mass Media, formulated in 1974 a Philippine Motion Picture Industry Code of Ethics and a Media Code of the Philippine Motion Picture Industry;
WHEREAS, there is urgent need for the motion picture industry to adopt these Codes;
The Board of Censors for Motion Pictures is therefore hereby instructed to adopt the aforementioned Codes and to enforce their implementation by the members of the industry.
