CHED MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 028-99

In accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) No. 7722, otherwise known as the "Higher Education Act of 1994," and by virtue of Resolution No. R345-99 of the Commission en banc dated Oct. 7, 1999 the following amendments are hereby adopted and promulgated by the Commission, thus:
Certification of Quality Standards System (QSS) of maritime schools must be made on or before 15 December 1999 instead of August 1, 1999.
Maritime institutions have the option to secure their QSS certification from any international regulatory or certifying body, provided that the provisions of the Rules for a QSS in Maritime Academies are met. Maritime schools can also apply to CHED certification system through the Office of Programs and Standards (OPS) for purposes of QSS certification.
