Changing the Curfew Hours from Twelve O'clock Midnight to Four O'clock in the Morning to One O'clock to Four O'clock in the Morning in View of Improved Peace and Order Conditions in the Country and to Encourage Economic Growth and Tourism
General Order No. 45, issued by Ferdinand E. Marcos on March 18, 1974, modifies the curfew hours in the Greater Manila Area from midnight to 1:00 AM to 4:00 AM, reflecting improved peace and order conditions and aiming to foster economic growth and tourism. This order specifically applies to Manila, Quezon, Pasay, Caloocan, and 13 surrounding municipalities. However, in areas outside this jurisdiction, existing curfew hours may remain unchanged if deemed necessary for military and national security purposes, as determined by the Armed Forces and approved by the President. The adjustment signifies a response to the evolving safety and economic landscape in the Philippines during that period.
