Republic Act No. 6731, enacted on June 14, 1989, officially changes the name of Vito Cruz Street in Malate and Singalong, Manila, and in Makati, Metro Manila, to Pablo de Leon Ocampo Street. This name change honors Pablo de Leon Ocampo for his contributions as a lawyer, editor, parliamentarian, statesman, and nationalist. The Act took effect following its publication in at least two newspapers of general circulation. It was published in the Daily Globe and Manila Bulletin on July 7, 1989, and in the Official Gazette on July 10, 1989.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6731

AN ACT CHANGING THE NAME OF THE VITO CRUZ STREET IN THE DISTRICTS OF MALATE AND SINGALONG, CITY OF MANILA, AND IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MAKATI, METRO MANILA, TO PABLO DE LEON OCAMPO STREET IN HONOR OF PABLO DE LEON OCAMPO, LAWYER, EDITOR, PARLIAMENTARIAN, STATESMAN AND NATIONALIST

SECTION 1. The name of the Vito Cruz Street in the districts of Malate and Singalong, City of Manila, traversing the Municipality of Makati, Metro Manila, is hereby changed to Pablo de Leon Ocampo Street in honor of Pablo de Leon Ocampo, lawyer, editor, parliamentarian, statesman and nationalist. casia

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its publication in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation.
