PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 943
CHANGING THE NAME OF THE STO. TOMAS-BATANGAS CITY-NASUGBU ROAD TO "PRESIDENT LAUREL HIGHWAY"
WHEREAS, among the illustrious leaders of the country whose name is revered by all Filipinos is the late President Jose P. Laurel, Sr., the beloved son of the province of Batangas; and
WHEREAS, it has been the tradition of the Filipino people to name important buildings, bridges and highways after illustrious leaders of the country to perpetuate their names and memories; cdt
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree:
SECTION 1. The name of the present road traversing Sto. Tomas, Batangas City, and Nasugbu, now called the Sto. Tomas-Batangas City-Nasugbu Road, is hereby changed to "PRESIDENT LAUREL HIGHWAY." cdt
SECTION 2. This Decree shall take effect immediately.
DONE in the City of Manila, this 10th day of June, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-Six.
