Career Incentives in the AFP Nurse Corps

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5338

AN ACT PROVIDING CAREER INCENTIVES IN THE NURSE CORPS OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES, AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

SECTION 1. Hereafter, any officer in the Nurse Corps of the Armed Forces of the Philippines on active duty shall receive one hundred pesos monthly as an incentive pay, in addition to the salary and other allowances she is entitled to receive under existing laws and regulations: Provided, That such incentive pay shall not accrue in her favor in time of war or declared national emergency, or while said officer is receiving additional pay for overseas service involving war or under conditions approximating war: And provided, further, That any officer in the Nurse Corps receiving or authorized to receive flight or sea duty pay has the option to receive the incentive pay authorized under this Act or the flight or sea duty pay, but in no case shall she be entitled to receive both.

SECTION 2. The sum of three hundred and fifty thousand pesos or so much thereof as may be necessary is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to carry out the purpose of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. aisa dc
