MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 181

AUTHORIZING THE PARTICIPATION ON OFFICIAL TRAVEL OF PROFESSIONAL FORESTERS IN GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, GOVERNMENT-OWNED AND CONTROLLED CORPORATIONS, LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS, AND STATE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES IN THE 61ST NATIONAL CONVENTION AND FORUM OF THE SOCIETY OF FILIPINO FORESTERS, INC.

The Society of Filipino Foresters, Inc. (SFFI) will hold its 61st Anniversary and National Convention and Forum on November 5 to 7, 2009 at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel, Rizal Avenue corner Doroteo Jose Street, Manila, with the theme "Sustainable Forests: Key to Climate Change Adaptation and Biodiversity Conservation".

The gathering will serve as a venue for Professional Foresters to take part in national and global efforts to address the adverse impacts of climate change and promote biodiversity conservation. Likewise, they are expected to develop strategies that may be adopted by both government and private sectors in climate change adaptation and biodiversity conservation.

In this regard, Professional Foresters in government agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations, local government units and state colleges and universities are hereby authorized to attend the above-mentioned convention and forum on official travel subject to the availability of funds from their respective offices and provided that such attendance will not adversely affect the functions of their respective offices as well as the delivery of services to the public.
