Authorizing the Central Bank to Establish and Operate Security Printing Plant for Printing of Bank Notes
Presidential Decree No. 484, issued on June 18, 1974, authorizes the Central Bank of the Philippines to establish and operate a security printing plant for the printing of bank notes and other security printing tasks. This action addresses the delay in the operationalization of a national security printing plant mandated by previous legislation, namely Republic Act Nos. 4700 and 5183. The decree emphasizes the Central Bank's responsibility over currency issuance and its need to manage security printing efficiently. All conflicting laws and regulations are repealed or modified accordingly, and the decree takes effect immediately.
