Authority to Macleod & Company to Maintain an Action at Law Against the Government of the Philippine Islands
Act No. 3782, enacted on November 28, 1930, authorizes Macleod & Company to file a lawsuit against the Government of the Philippine Islands to seek damages for alleged harm to its property along the Pasig River in Manila. The damage is claimed to have resulted from excessive dredging by the Bureau of Public Works, which the Director of Public Works denies responsibility for. The Act allows Macleod & Company to determine the government's liability and recover any damages through legal proceedings in the Court of First Instance of Manila. This legislation emphasizes the pursuit of justice in resolving disputes over property damage.
