Act No. 3950, enacted on December 1, 1932, authorizes the Director of Lands to collect fees from private land surveyors for the verification of their surveys, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources. It allocates thirty-five thousand pesos from the Insular Treasury for hiring junior personnel to assist in expediting the verification process. The expenses incurred for these positions must not exceed the fees collected from the surveyors. The Act takes effect immediately upon approval.

ACT NO. 3950

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF LANDS, WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES, TO COLLECT FEES FOR THE VERIFICATION OF SURVEYS BY PRIVATE LAND SURVEYORS, SETTING ASIDE AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONNEL, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

SECTION 1. The Director of Lands is hereby authorized to collect fees from private land surveyors for the verification of their surveys at rates which shall be prescribed with the approval of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

SECTION 2. The sum of thirty-five thousand pesos is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the employment of junior computers and junior draftsmen, at the rate not to exceed six hundred pesos per annum each, to expedite the work of verification of surveys submitted by private land surveyors to the Bureau of Lands: Provided, however, That the payments made under the authority given herein, shall not exceed the fees actually collected under section one of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
