Authority to Convey Franchise from Visayan Electric Co., S.A. to Visayan Electric Co., Inc.
Republic Act No. 3234, enacted on June 17, 1961, authorizes the sale, transfer, and conveyance of the franchise and properties of the Visayan Electric Company, S.A. to the Visayan Electric Company, Inc. This transfer allows the latter to operate and maintain an electric light, heat, and power system in the City of Cebu and several municipalities within the province. The Visayan Electric Company, Inc. will be subject to the regulations outlined in the original franchise granted under Act No. 3499. The law took effect upon its approval.

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE SALE, TRANSFER AND CONVEYANCE TO THE VISAYAN ELECTRIC CO., INC., OF THE FRANCHISE AND ALL THE PROPERTIES AND RIGHTS ACQUIRED THEREUNDER OF THE VISAYAN ELECTRIC CO., S.A., GRANTED UNDER ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-FOUR HUNDRED NINETY-NINE, TO OPERATE, AND MAINTAIN AN ELECTRIC LIGHT, HEAT AND POWER SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF CEBU AND IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF TALISAY, MINGLANILLA, NAGA, SAN FERNANDO, MANDAWE, CONSOLACION, LILOAN AND COMPOSTELA, ALL IN THE PROVINCE OF CEBU
SECTION 1. The sale, transfer and conveyance to the Visayan Electric Co., Inc., of the franchise and all the properties and rights acquired thereunder of the Visayan Electric Co., S.A., granted under Act Numbered Thirty-four hundred ninety-nine, to operate and maintain an electric light, heat and power system in the City of Cebu and in the municipalities of Talisay, Minglanilla, Naga, San Fernando, Mandawe, Consolacion, Liloan, and Compostela, all in the Province of Cebu, is hereby authorized and approved. The Visayan Electric Co., Inc., shall, therefore, be subject to the provisions of said Act Numbered Thirty-four hundred ninety-nine.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
