GPPB RESOLUTION NO. 28-07
APPROVING THE REQUEST OF THE VETERANS MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER TO EXTEND ITS CONTRACT FOR SECURITY SERVICES FOR TWO (2) MONTHS OR FROM JULY TO AUGUST 2007
WHEREAS, the Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB), created under Section 63 of Republic Act No. 9184 (R.A. 9184), issued the Guidelines for the Extension of Contracts for General Services, under GPPB Resolution No. 08-2005, as amended by GPPB Resolution No. 03-2006; DaESIC
WHEREAS, Section 5.1 of said guidelines provides that, unless otherwise approved by the GPPB, contract extensions shall not be allowed beyond an aggregate period of six (6) months;
WHEREAS, the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) of the Philippine Veterans Office requests for approval to extend its contract for security services with Lanting Security Agency for an additional two (2) months or from July to August 2007;
WHEREAS, the GPPB-Technical Support Office received last 24 August 2007 the relevant documents to support VMMC's request for contract extension;
WHEREAS, the Inter-Agency Technical Working Group during its 10th Regular Meeting held last 17 October 2007, finds the request for contract extension of VMMC well-founded and recommends its approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the foregoing, WE, the Members of the GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT POLICY BOARD, by virtue of the powers vested on US by law, hereby RESOLVE to approve, as WE hereby approve, the request of Veterans Memorial Medical Center to extend its contract for security services for an additional period of two (2) months or from July to August 2007.
This resolution shall take effect immediately.
