REPUBLIC ACT NO. 235
AN ACT APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS TO DEFRAY THE EXPENSES OF THE SPECIAL ELECTIONS TO FILL EXISTING VACANCIES IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CALLED IN PROCLAMATION NUMBERED FIFTY-THREE, DATED FEBRUARY THREE, NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FORTY-EIGHT, OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Philippine Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of one hundred thousand pesos or so much thereof as may be necessary to defray the expenses of the special elections to be held on March twenty-three, nineteen hundred and forty-eight, in the Fourth Representative District of the Province of Iloilo and in the First Representative District of the Province of Leyte for the purpose of electing the members who are to fill the unexpired portion of the terms of the existing vacancies in the House of Representatives called in Proclamation Numbered Fifty-three, dated February three, nineteen hundred and forty-eight, of the President of the Philippines: Provided, That any amount of the expenditures necessary for the holding of said elections in excess of the sum herein appropriated shall be advanced from any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
