Appropriation of Funds for Regional Conference of Law Associations for Asia and the Western Pacific (LAWASIA)

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6143

AN ACT APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS TO COVER ALL EXPENSES FOR THE HOLDING OF THE REGIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE LAW ASSOCIATION FOR ASIA AND THE WESTERN PACIFIC (LAWASIA) IN THE PHILIPPINES

SECTION 1. The sum of one hundred thousand pesos is appropriated out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to defray the expenses for the holding of the Second Regional Conference of the Law Association for Asia and the Western Pacific (LAWASIA) on January eighteen to twenty-two, nineteen hundred and seventy-one, inclusive, including the acquisition and installation of modern conference equipment and facilities, communication and transportation services, and supplies.

SECTION 2. All disbursements to be made from the appropriation shall be previously approved by a committee composed of the Auditor General, as Chairman, the Secretary of Finance and the Budget Commissioner, as members, or their respective representatives, and all serviceable equipments, supplies, materials and other property acquired hereunder shall be placed thereafter under the custody of the Department of General Services for future use. cd

SECTION 3. Any provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding, the sum herein appropriated shall be made immediately available upon the approval of this Act and be at the disposal of the Law Association for Asia and the Western Pacific. acd

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
