Appropriating the Sum of P250,000 for the Purposes of Act No. 2548

ACT NO. 2679

AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND PESOS FOR THE PURPOSES OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-FIVE HUNDRED AND FORTY-EIGHT, ENTITLED "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE IMMUNIZATION OF CATTLE AND CARABAOS TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF RINDERPEST WITHIN THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES"

SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand pesos, to be disbursed under the direction of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources to carry out the purposes of Act Numbered Twenty-five hundred and forty-eight, entitled "An Act to provide for the immunization of cattle and carabaos to prevent the spread of rinderpest within the Philippine Islands, appropriating funds therefor, and for other purposes."

SECTION 2. The funds herein appropriated shall be expended only for salaries of the technical personnel, traveling expenses, acquisition of instruments and medicines required for the immunization, purchase of animals for obtaining virulent blood, and for aid to the "insurance fund" of provinces in which immunizing stations are established: Provided, That contracts with the technical personnel employed for the purpose shall not be made for a period of more than one year and said personnel shall receive salaries not in excess of those hereinafter stated:

One veterinarian, class three	P5,000.00
Two veterinarians, class four	9,000.00
Four veterinarians, class five	16,000.00
Four veterinarians, class six	14,400.00
Two veterinarians, class seven	6,400.00
One employee, Class F	960.00
One employee, Class I	600.00

Provided, further, That whenever the necessities of the service require it and there remains an unexpended balance of the funds appropriated by this Act, the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources may extend the contract period until such funds shall have been totally disbursed.

SECTION 3. The Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources shall submit a detailed report of the disbursements made under this Act to the Philippine Legislature before October thirtieth of each year, unless the funds herein appropriated shall be entirely disbursed, in which case he shall submit a final report of the disbursements made as well as the results obtained.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
