COMMONWEALTH ACT NO. 173
AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT FOR THE BUREAU OF PRINTING TO PRINT TEXTBOOKS PREPARED AND FURNISHED BY THE BUREAU OF EDUCATION OR MANUSCRIPTS ACQUIRED BY THE GOVERNMENT
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated from the funds of the Philippine Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of five hundred and seventy thousand pesos, or such part thereof as may, in the discretion of the President, be necessary for the purchase of additional equipment for the Bureau of Printing to print such textbooks as may be prepared and furnished by the Bureau of Education or manuscripts written by private persons and acquired by purchase or otherwise by the Philippine Government, including the necessary traveling expenses of the Director of Printing and personnel whom the President may designate, upon recommendation of the Secretary of Finance, to purchase the equipment abroad and to study modern methods of printing therein as the President may direct.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
