Anti-Corruption Month Act

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10589
AN ACT DECLARING DECEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS "ANTI-CORRUPTION MONTH" IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY
SECTION 1. Short Title. — This Act shall be known as the "Anti-Corruption Month Act".
SECTION 2. December as Anti-Corruption Month. — December of every year is hereby declared as "Anti-Corruption Month" in the entire country.
For this purpose, all heads of government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned and -controlled corporations as well as local government units and employers in the private sector, are hereby mandated to conduct activities designed to create awareness among the people on the adverse effects of corruption.
The awareness campaign must not only contain information on what constitutes an act of corruption, but also what citizens must do when faced with such corruption.
SECTION 3. Office of the Ombudsman as Lead Agency. — The Office of the Ombudsman is hereby designated as the lead agency under this Act for coordination purposes.
SECTION 4. Separability Clause. — If, for any reason whatsoever, any provision of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of the other provisions not so declared.
SECTION 5. Repealing Clause. — All laws, rules and regulations or parts thereof inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly. DHETIS
SECTION 6. Effectivity. — This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days following its publication in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation.
