An Act Upgrading the Quezon City Sub-District Engineering Office into a Regular District Engineering Office to be Known as the Quezon City First Engineering District and Appropriating Funds Therefor
Republic Act No. 8951, enacted on August 31, 2000, upgrades the Quezon City Sub-District Engineering Office to a regular engineering district office, named the Quezon City First Engineering District. This new office will oversee infrastructure and public works in the First and Second Congressional Districts of Quezon City, while the existing office will be renamed the Quezon City Second Engineering District, responsible for the Third and Fourth Congressional Districts. The Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways is empowered to issue necessary regulations for effective implementation. Funding for this initiative will be included in the General Appropriations Act for the subsequent year. The Act took effect upon its approval.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8951
AN ACT UPGRADING THE QUEZON CITY SUB-DISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICE INTO A REGULAR DISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICE TO BE KNOWN AS THE QUEZON CITY FIRST ENGINEERING DISTRICT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. The Quezon City Sub-District Engineering Office located at the Barangay Holy Spirit, Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City is hereby upgraded into a regular engineering district office. It shall be known as the Quezon City First Engineering District. Subsequently, the existing engineering district office, located at EDSA, Quezon City shall be known as the Quezon City Second Engineering District. SEcADa
SECTION 2. The Quezon City First Engineering District shall assume jurisdiction over infrastructure and public works in all the barangays of the First and Second Congressional Districts of Quezon City. Consequently, the Quezon City Second Engineering District shall assume the same jurisdiction in all the barangays of the Third and Fourth Congressional Districts of Quezon City.
SECTION 3. The Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways is hereby authorized to effect such rules, regulations and other issuances as may be necessary to ensure the effective implementation of the provisions of this Act.
SECTION 4. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter. HcTDSA
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
