An Act to Provide that the Provisions of Act Numbered Fourteen Hundred and Fifty-Eight Prohibiting the Exhumation of Human Remains within One and One-Half Years after Interment Shall Not Apply to Certain Pending Cases
Act No. 1725, enacted on September 23, 1907, amends existing regulations regarding the disinterment of human remains in the Philippines. It allows the Director of Health to grant permits for the removal of remains in cases where applications for disinterment were made prior to the enactment of the law that prohibits such actions within one and a half years after burial. This measure was introduced to accommodate individuals in the United States who had already arranged for the transfer of remains without prior knowledge of the prohibitive regulations. The Act emphasizes the urgency of its passage for the public good and takes effect immediately upon enactment.
