COMMONWEALTH ACT NO. 72
AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT NOTARIES PUBLIC SHALL FORWARD AT CERTAIN PERIODS COPIES OF ALL DOCUMENTS ACKNOWLEDGED BEFORE THEM TO THE CLERK OF THE CORRESPONDING COURT OF FIRST INSTANCE AND FOR PUNISHMENT IN THE EVENT OF FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTIONS TWO HUNDRED FORTY-SIX AND TWO HUNDRED FORTY-SEVEN OF THE REVISED ADMINISTRATIVE CODE
SECTION 1. The last paragraph of section two hundred and forty-six of Act Numbered Twenty-seven hundred and eleven, known as the Revised Administrative Code, as amended by Act Numbered Three thousand and sixty-eight, is hereby further amended to read as follows: EHcaAI
"A certified copy of each month's entries as described in this section and a certified copy of any instrument acknowledged before them shall within the first ten days of the month next following be forwarded by the notaries public to the clerk of the Court of First Instance of the province and shall be filed under the responsibility of such officer: Provided, That if there is no entry to certify for the month, the notary shall forward a statement to this effect in lieu of the certified copies herein required."
SECTION 2. Section twenty-six hundred and thirty-three of the same Act, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 2633. Failure of notary public to certify payment of cedula tax, and so forth. — Any notary public who upon taking the acknowledgment to any document shall fail to certify the fact of the payment of the cedula tax by the parties thereto, as required by law, or who shall fail to comply with the requirements of sections two hundred and forty-six and two hundred and forty-seven of these Code, shall be summarily dismissed from office and punished by a fine of one hundred pesos."
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect as provided in section eleven of the Revised Administrative Code.
