ACT NO. 974
AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION SIX OF ACT NUMBERED TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY-TWO, ENTITLED "AN ACT AMENDING ACT NUMBERED ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FIVE AND ESTABLISHING A SUPPLY STORE FOR THE BENEFIT OF CIVIL SERVANTS OF THE INSULAR AND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENTS STATIONED OUTSIDE THE CITY OF MANILA," BY PROVIDING FOR A REDUCTION IN THE COST OF SUPPLIES AS SOLD TO AUTHORIZED PURCHASERS, AND FIXING CERTAIN LIMITATIONS RELATIVE TO THE TRANSPORTATION OF SUCH SUPPLIES
SECTION 1. Section six of Act Numbered Two hundred and forty-two, entitled "An Act amending Act Numbered One hundred and seventy-five and establishing a supply store for the benefit of civil servants of the Insular and provincial governments stationed outside the city of Manila," is hereby amended by striking out the words "twenty per cent" in the fourth line of said section and inserting in lieu thereof the words "ten per cent;" and by adding at the end of said section the following: "The additional charge of ten per cent herein provided shall not be construed to cover the cost of handling and transportation beyond the several branch supply stores established by the Chief of Constabulary under the provisions of section three of this Act: provided, however, That in case purchases are made for the use of detachments of Constabulary stationed at points remote from the several branch supply stores, the cost of delivery from the branch supply store to the station of the detachment shall be chargeable to the current appropriation for "Transportation, Philippines Constabulary.'"
SECTION 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SECTION 3. This Act shall be retroactive so as to include the sale of all stores purchased since November thirteenth, nineteen hundred and one.
