Act No. 1683, enacted on August 14, 1907, amends a previous law to require municipal officers and police members to promptly notify both the provincial governor and the nearest Constabulary officer about the presence of any bands of ladrones or brigands, or any acts of robbery or theft threatening community peace. This notification must occur if the relevant Constabulary station is within fifteen kilometers. Violations of this duty can result in a fine of up to two thousand pesos and imprisonment for up to two years. Additionally, the Act repeals a section of Act No. 1121 and emphasizes the urgency of its enactment.
