ACT NO. 3016
AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION EIGHT HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-NINE OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-SEVEN HUNDRED AND ELEVEN, KNOWN AS THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, SO AS TO ENABLE THE MUNICIPAL TREASURERS AND MUNICIPAL PRESIDENTS TO ACQUIRE AND USE FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION THEREFOR
SECTION 1. Section eight hundred and seventy-nine of Act Numbered Twenty-seven hundred and eleven, known as the Administrative Code, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 879. Exception as to firearms and ammunition used by military and naval forces or by peace officer. — This article shall not apply to firearms and ammunition regularly and lawfully issued to officers, soldiers. sailors, or marines of the United States Army and Navy, the Philippine Constabulary, guards in the employment of the Bureau of Prisons, municipal police, provincial governors, lieutenant governors, provincial treasurers, municipal treasurers, municipal presidents, and guards of provincial prisoners and jails, when such firearms are in possession of such officials and public servants for use in the performance of their official duties."
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
