Reyes Memorial Elementary School, and Appropriating Funds Therefor
Republic Act No. 9153, enacted on August 10, 2001, establishes the Kapitan Eddie T. Reyes Memorial Elementary School by separating it from the Tenement Elementary School Annex in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig, Metro Manila. The Act ensures that all assets, records, and personnel of the annex are retained by the new school, safeguarding the rights and tenure of existing staff. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports is tasked with creating necessary regulations for the Act's implementation. Funding for the new school will initially come from the Tenement Elementary School Annex's appropriations, with future operational costs included in the annual General Appropriations Act. The Act takes effect upon approval.

AN ACT SEPARATING THE TENEMENT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ANNEX IN BARANGAY WESTERN BICUTAN, TAGUIG, METRO MANILA FROM THE TENEMENT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN BARANGAY WESTERN BICUTAN, TAGUIG, METRO MANILA AND CONVERTING IT INTO AN INDEPENDENT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE KAPITAN EDDIE T. REYES MEMORIAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. The Tenement Elementary School Annex of the Tenement Elementary School in the Municipality of Taguig, Metro Manila is hereby separated from the Tenement Elementary School in Barangay Western Bicutan, Municipality of Taguig, Metro Manila and converted into a separate and independent elementary school to be known as the Kapitan Eddie T. Reyes Memorial Elementary School.
SECTION 2. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.
SECTION 3. All assets, immovable and movable, records and personnel of the Tenement Elementary School Annex of the Tenement Elementary School, as well as their liabilities and obligations, are hereby retained with the newly created independent elementary school (Kapitan Eddie T. Reyes Memorial School): Provided, however, That the positions, rights and security of tenure of the personnel therein employed under existing laws shall not be impaired. ESHcTD
SECTION 4. The amount necessary for the implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Tenement Elementary School Annex. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the operation and maintenance of the Kapitan Eddie T. Reyes Memorial School shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
