An Act Repealing Act Numbered Seventy-Eight, Paragraph (d) of Section Eight of Act Numbered Eighty-Two, and Section Three of Act Numbered Eighty-Three, and Act Numbered One Hundred and Six Amendatory of Said Acts, so Far as Concerns Certain Inhabitants of the Province of Cebu
Act No. 343, enacted on February 1, 1902, repeals certain provisions of earlier acts that restricted civil and political rights for individuals involved in the insurgency in Cebu. Specifically, it nullifies sections that deemed insurgents ineligible for public office, in accordance with Brigadier-General R. P. Hughes's promise to uphold their rights upon surrender. The act emphasizes the urgency of its passage for the public good and takes effect immediately upon enactment.
