ACT NO. 1280
AN ACT REDUCING THE FIFTEEN MUNICIPALITIES OF THE PROVINCE OF MINDORO TO EIGHT
SECTION 1. The fifteen municipalities of the Province of Mindoro shall, in accordance with the provisions of this Act, be reduced to eight, as follows:
1. The municipality of Lubang shall consist of its present territory and that of the municipality of Looc, with the seat of the municipal government at the barrio of Tilic.
2. The municipality of Mamburao shall consist of its present territory and that of the municipalities of Palauan and Abra de Ylog, with the seat of the municipal government at the present municipality of Mamburao.
3. The municipality of Calapan shall consist of its present territory and that of the municipality of Puerto Galera, with the seat of the municipal government at the present municipality of Calapan.
4. The municipality of Pinamalayan shall consist of its present territory and that of the municipality of Pola, with the seat of the municipal government at the present municipality of Pinamalayan.
5. The municipality of Bulalacao shall consist of its present territory and that of the municipalities of Mansalay and Mangarin, with the seat of the municipal government at the present municipality of Bulalacao.
6. The municipality of Naujan shall preserve its present boundaries.
7. The municipality of Sablayan shall preserve its present boundaries.
8. The municipality of Caluya shall preserve its present boundaries.
SECTION 2. The present municipal officers of the existing municipalities of Lubang, Mamburao, Calapan, Pinamalayan, and Bulalacao shall continue as the municipal officers of the new municipalities of the same name as authorized by this Act until the next regular elections shall be held for the enlarged municipalities as provided by law: Provided, however, That the municipal councilors of the annexed municipalities shall continue in office as councilors of the new municipalities until the next regular elections hereinbefore referred to. With the exception of the municipal councilors all other municipal officials of the annexed municipalities shall cease to hold office and their positions shall be abolished upon the taking effect of this Act.
SECTION 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on February first, nineteen hundred and five.
