An Act Reapportioning the Province of Aklan into Two (2) Legislative Districts

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11077
AN ACT REAPPORTIONING THE PROVINCE OF AKLAN INTO TWO (2) LEGISLATIVE DISTRICTS
SECTION 1. Legislative Districts. — The Province of Aklan is hereby reapportioned into two (2) legislative districts to commence in the next national and local elections after the effectivity of this Act. Each district shall be composed of the following:
(a) FIRST LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT:
(1) Altavas
(2) Balete
(3) Banga
(4) Batan
(5) Kalibo
(6) New Washington
(7) Libacao
(8) Madalag
(b) SECOND LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT:
(1) Buruanga
(2) Ibajay
(3) Lezo
(4) Makato
(5) Malay
(6) Malinao
(7) Nabas
(8) Numancia
(9) Tangalan
SECTION 2. Incumbent Representatives. — The incumbent Representative of the Lone Legislative District of the Province of Aklan shall continue to represent the legislative district until the new Representatives have been duly elected and qualified.
SECTION 3. Implementing Rules and Regulations. — The Commission on Elections shall issue the necessary rules and regulations to implement this Act within thirty (30) days upon the effectivity of this Act.
SECTION 4. Repealing Clause. — All laws, rules and regulations which are inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.
SECTION 5. Effectivity. — This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in any newspaper of general circulation. CAIHTE
