An Act Providing for the Conversion of the Guiuan Municipal High School Into a National High School to be Known as the Guiuan National High School, and Appropriating Funds Therefor
Republic Act No. 8400, enacted on November 22, 1997, converts the Guiuan Municipal High School in Eastern Samar into a national high school, officially named Guiuan National High School. The act transfers all personnel, assets, liabilities, and records from the municipal high school to the newly established national high school. It mandates the Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports to issue necessary rules for implementation and includes funding provisions to be incorporated into the General Appropriations Act. The law took effect upon its approval, having lapsed into law without the President's signature.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8400
AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE CONVERSION OF THE GUIUAN MUNICIPAL HIGH SCHOOL INTO A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE GUIUAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. The Guiuan Municipal High School in the Municipality of Guiuan, Province of Eastern Samar is hereby converted into a national high school to be known as the Guiuan National High School.
SECTION 2. All personnel, assets, liabilities and records of the Guiuan Municipal High School are hereby transferred to and absorbed by the Guiuan National High School.
SECTION 3. The Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue the necessary rules and memorandum for the proper implementation of the provisions of this Act.
SECTION 4. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
