Republic Act No. 9016, enacted on February 28, 2001, amends Section 11 of Republic Act No. 7926, which is the Charter of the City of Muntinlupa. REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9016

AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE COMPOSITION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF MUNTINLUPA, AMENDING FOR THIS PURPOSE SECTION 11 OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7926, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MUNTINLUPA

SECTION 1. Section 11 of Republic Act No. 7926, otherwise known as the Charter of the City of Muntinlupa, is hereby amended to read as follows:

"SEC. 11. The Sangguniang Panlungsod. — The sangguniang panlungsod, the legislative body of the City, shall be composed of the city vice-mayor who shall be the presiding officer, eight (8) councilors per district who shall compose the regular sanggunian members elected by popular vote, the president of the city chapter of the liga ng mga barangay, the president of the panlungsod na pederasyon ng mga sangguniang kabataan, and the sectoral representatives, as members. In the local elections of May 2001, the qualified voters of the City of Muntinlupa shall already vote for the eight (8) members per district of the sangguniang panlungsod, as mandated under this Act. aHIEcS

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect immediately after its publication in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation.
