ACT NO. 645
AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF AN ASSISTANT CHIEF OF THE BUREAU OF NON-CHRISTIAN TRIBES
SECTION 1. The Civil Governor, with the advice and consent of the Philippine Commission, is hereby authorized to appoint an assistant chief of the Bureau of Non-Christian Tribes at a salary of three thousand five hundred dollars, in money of the United States, per annum.
SECTION 2. It shall be the duty of the assistant chief to investigate and report upon the customs and conditions of the Jolo Moros, to learn the Jolo language, and to perform such other duties as the Secretary of the Interior and the Chief of the Bureau of Non-Christian Tribes may direct.
SECTION 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect as of February first, nineteen hundred and three.
