An Act Providing a Substitute upon the Provincial Board for the Provincial Treasurers under Certain Circumstances, and Amending Acts Numbered Eighty-Three and One Hundred and Thirty-Three
Act No. 326, enacted on December 31, 1901, establishes a protocol for provincial treasurers who are suspended due to alleged financial misconduct. When the Insular Treasurer assumes control of a provincial treasurer's office, the suspended treasurer is automatically removed from the provincial board, while the appointed deputy takes over their responsibilities and becomes a board member with full powers. The Act emphasizes the urgency of its passage for the public good and allows for immediate effect upon enactment.
