ACT NO. 1823
AN ACT CREATING THE ENTRY PORT OF DAVAO
SECTION 1. The port of Davao, Island of Mindanao, in the Moro Province, is hereby created a port of entry.
SECTION 2. The personnel of the Davao custom-house shall be fixed from time to time by the Insular Collector of Customs, with the approval of the Secretary of Finance and Justice: Provided, That the total salaries paid in any year shall not exceed the sum of ten thousand five hundred pesos.
SECTION 3. The port of Davao may be closed and reopened by the Governor-General in the manner and subject to the conditions prescribed by Act Numbered Seventeen hundred and seventy-seven for the closing and reopening of certain other ports. ACTIHa
SECTION 4. The Insular Collector of Customs shall, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Finance and Justice, define the limits of an additional collection district of which Davao shall be the port of entry; and these limits may be changed from time to time as provided by section ten of Act Numbered Three hundred and fifty-five, or the district may be abolished by the same authority.
SECTION 5. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SECTION 6. This Act shall take effect on July first, nineteen hundred and eight.
