Republic Act No. 9050, enacted on March 30, 2001, establishes a new engineering district in the Province of Oriental Mindoro, named the Southern Mindoro Engineering District, with its main office located in the Municipality of Roxas. This act allows for the creation of this district despite any conflicting laws and mandates that the necessary funding be incorporated into the General Appropriations Act of the following year. The law took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on July 16, 2001.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9050
AN ACT CREATING A SEPARATE ENGINEERING DISTRICT IN THE PROVINCE OF ORIENTAL MINDORO TO BE KNOWN AS THE SOUTHERN MINDORO ENGINEERING DISTRICT, THE OFFICE OF WHICH SHALL BE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF ROXAS AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. Any provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding, the second congressional district in the Province of Oriental Mindoro is hereby created as a separate engineering district to be known as the Southern Mindoro Engineering District of the Province of Oriental Mindoro with principal office at the Municipality of Roxas.
SECTION 2. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter. cACDaH
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
