An Act Converting the Hilaan Barangay High School in the Municipality of Bontoc, Province of Southern Leyte, Into a National High School to Be Known as the Hilaan National High School, and Appropriating Funds Therefor
Republic Act No. 8403, enacted on November 22, 1997, converts the Hilaan Barangay High School in Bontoc, Southern Leyte, into a national high school, renamed Hilaan National High School. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports is tasked with issuing necessary regulations for its operation. All assets and liabilities of the former barangay high school will be transferred to the new national high school. Funding for this transition will be included in the General Appropriations Act of the following year and thereafter. The Act took effect immediately upon its approval, having lapsed into law without presidential signature.

AN ACT CONVERTING THE HILAAN BARANGAY HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BONTOC, PROVINCE OF SOUTHERN LEYTE, INTO A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE HILAAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. The Hilaan Barangay High School in the Municipality of Bontoc, Province of Southern Leyte, is hereby converted into a national high school, to be known as the Hilaan National High School.
SECTION 2. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the purpose of this Act. cdt
SECTION 3. All equipment, property, assets and liabilities of the Hilaan Barangay High School shall be transferred to the Hilaan National High School.
SECTION 4. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
