Republic Act No. 8343, enacted on August 12, 1997, converts the Adela Serra Ty Memorial Hospital in Tandag, Surigao del Sur, into a tertiary level medical center, increasing its bed capacity to 200. The facility will operate under the full administrative and technical supervision of the Department of Health (DOH) and will be officially renamed the Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center. The DOH is tasked with establishing the necessary rules and regulations for the Act's implementation. Funding for this conversion will be included in the General Appropriations Act for the year following the law's enactment. The Act took effect upon its approval.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8343

AN ACT CONVERTING THE ADELA SERRA TY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN TANDAG, SURIGAO DEL SUR, INTO A TERTIARY LEVEL MEDICAL CENTER, UNDER THE FULL ADMINISTRATIVE AND TECHNICAL SUPERVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH (DOH), TO BE KNOWN AS THE ADELA SERRA TY MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

SECTION 1. The Adela Serra Ty Memorial Hospital in Tandag, Surigao del Sur, is hereby converted into a tertiary level medical center, correspondingly increasing its bed capacity to Two hundred (200) beds, under the full administrative and technical supervision of the Department of Health, to be known as the Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center.

SECTION 2. The Department of Health shall issue the necessary rules and regulations for the effective implementation of this Act.

SECTION 3. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
