ACT NO. 1118
AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF THE BUREAU OF PUBLIC LANDS TO ADMINISTER OATHS, EXAMINE WITNESSES, AND SEND FOR PERSONS AND PAPERS; AND PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON WHO SHALL WILLFULLY AND KNOWINGLY MAKE ANY FALSE AFFIDAVIT OR OATH TO ANY MATERIAL FACT OR MATTER BEFORE HIM SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF PERJURY AND PUNISHED ACCORDINGLY
SECTION 1. The Chief of the Bureau of Public Lands shall, in performing all duties required of him, have authority to administer oaths, examine witnesses, and send for persons and papers; and any person who shall willfully and knowingly make any false affidavit or oath to any material fact or matter before him shall be deemed guilty of perjury and on conviction shall be punished as for such offense. SECTION 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
