ACT NO. 1296
AN ACT AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE AUDITOR FOR THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS TO TRANSFER ON THE BOOKS OF HIS OFFICE TO THE GENERAL-REVENUE ACCOUNT THREE HUNDRED AND FOURTEEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND SIXTY PESOS REMAINING UNEXPENDED FROM APPROPRIATIONS HERETOFORE MADE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC WORKS AND PERMANENT IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CITY OF MANILA, AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED PESOS, OR SO MUCH THEREOF AS MAY BE NECESSARY, FOR CERTAIN PUBLIC WORKS AND PERMANENT IMPROVEMENTS IN SAID CITY
SECTION 1. The Auditor for the Philippine Islands is hereby authorized and directed to transfer on the books of his office from appropriations heretofore made for public works and permanent improvements in the city of Manila, to the general-revenue account as unappropriated moneys, the following balances undrawn and to the credit of the city of Manila on account of said appropriations:
From the appropriation by Act Numbered Eight hundred and thirty, for schoolhouses, one hundred and ninety-five thousand four hundred pesos; for tenement houses, thirty thousand pesos.
From the appropriation by Act Numbered One thousand and eighty-seven, for the construction of ornamental shelter on the Luneta, six thousand four hundred pesos; for the construction of roadway and entrance to Cemetery del Norte, six thousand six hundred and twenty pesos.
From the appropriation by Act Numbered Twelve hundred and twenty-two for ferry at Pandacan, four thousand pesos; construction of fire-proof vaults, one thousand seven hundred and ninety pesos; K Street Bridge, twenty-four thousand pesos; two bridges on Calle Solis, eighteen thousand pesos; Moriones Bridge, twenty-four thousand pesos; stone monuments for street intersections, two thousand pesos; and for purchasing and placing street signs, two thousand seven hundred and fifty pesos.
In all, the sum of three hundred and fourteen thousand nine hundred and sixty pesos.
SECTION 2. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the Treasury of the Philippine Islands not otherwise appropriated, for public works and permanent improvements in the city of Manila, as follows:
For the general widening of streets throughout the city; and for the construction of temporary drains, diking, bridging, and other incidental expenses in connection with the work of filling the moat about the Walled City, one hundred and sixteen thousand six hundred pesos.
SECTION 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
