ACT NO. 1332
AN ACT AMENDING ACT NUMBERED ELEVEN HUNDRED AND FORTY-SEVEN, REGULATING REGISTRATION, BRANDING, CONVEYANCE, AND SLAUGHTER OF LARGE CATTLE, BY PROVIDING THAT CATTLE REGISTERED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF ACT NUMBERED THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-SEVEN SHALL BE REREGISTERED WITHOUT CHARGE UPON THE SURRENDER OF THE ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION
SECTION 1. Section twelve of Act Numbered Eleven hundred and forty-seven, regulating the registration, branding, conveyance, and slaughter of large cattle, is hereby amended by inserting after the words "in accordance with," in the fourth line thereof, the words "Act Numbered Three hundred and eighty-seven or," and by inserting after the words "Act No. 82," in the thirteenth line thereof, the words "(or) Act No. 387," so that the section shall read as follows:
"SEC. 12. Large cattle branded prior to the passage of this Act and registered in the various municipalities in accordance with subdivision (d), section forty-three of Act Numbered Eighty-two, known as the Municipal Code, or in accordance with Act Numbered Three hundred and eighty-seven or Act Numbered Six hundred and thirty-seven, upon surrender to the municipal treasurer of the written evidence of such registry, must be reregistered under the provisions of this Act, and a certificate of ownership issued to the owner without charge and without affixing to the certificate the stamp required by section ten of this Act. In such case, the reregistration entry and the certificate issued thereon shall be stamped 'Previously registered _______________ (insert date) day of __________________ (insert month), 19___ (insert year); subdivision (d), sec. 43, Act No. 82, (or) Act No. 387, (or) Act No. 637. ________________ (insert signature) municipal treasurer.'
"The written evidence of such previous registry shall be firmly attached to the retained office registry entry made under this Act."
SECTION 2. The provincial boards of all provinces to which the provisions of Act Numbered Three hundred and thirty-seven apply are hereby authorized to order refunds of the amounts which may have been paid for the registration of large cattle under the provisions of Act Numbered Eleven hundred and forty-seven, which had been previously registered in accordance with the provisions of Act Numbered Three hundred and eighty-seven, upon the surrender of the certificate of registration issued under Act Numbered Three hundred and eighty-seven and exhibition of the certificate of registration issued under the provisions of Act Numbered Eleven hundred and forty-seven.
SECTION 3. This Act shall be retroactive in so far as may be necessary to legalize all certificates of registration heretofore issued without charge upon surrender of certificates of registration issued in accordance with the provisions of Act Numbered Three hundred and eighty-seven.
SECTION 4. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
