ACT NO. 996
AN ACT AMENDING ACT NUMBERED EIGHTY-TWO, KNOWN AS "THE MUNICIPAL CODE," BY AUTHORIZING PROVINCIAL BOARDS TO DESIGNATE THE BUILDING IN WHICH MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS SHALL BE HELD AND TO EXTEND THE HOUR FIXED FOR THE CLOSING OF SUCH ELECTIONS
SECTION 1. Section ten of Act Numbered Eighty-two, known as "The Municipal Code," is hereby amended by inserting in the second line thereof, after the words "in the house of the municipality," the words "or in any other building designated by the provincial board.
SECTION 2. Section eleven, subsection (h), of the Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding at the close thereof the words "provided however, That the hour for closing the election may be extended, in the discretion of the provincial board, until seven o'clock postmeridian."
SECTION 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
