Batas Pambansa Blg. 26, enacted on April 20, 1979, amends Sections 70 and 73 of the City Charter of Dipolog. It establishes the appointment processes and qualifications for the City Engineer and City Health Officer, both of whom are to be appointed by the Prime Minister based on recommendations from their respective department ministers. The amendments also specify that these officials will receive compensation as dictated by existing laws. The Act takes effect upon approval and was published in the Official Gazette on May 14, 1979.

AN ACT AMENDING SECTIONS 70 AND 73 OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED 5520, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE CITY CHARTER OF DIPOLOG
SECTION 1. Paragraph 1 of Section 70 of the City Charter of Dipolog is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 70. The City Engineer. — There shall be a City Engineer who shall have charge of the Engineering and Public Works Department. He shall be appointed by the Prime Minister upon recommendation of the Minister of Public Highways who shall determine his qualification. He shall receive an annual compensation as fixed by existing laws for City Engineers. The City Engineer shall have the following powers and duties:"
SECTION 2. Paragraph 1 of Section 73 of the City Charter of Dipolog is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 73. The City Health Officer. — There shall be a City Health Officer who shall have charge of the City Health Department. He shall be appointed by the Prime Minister upon recommendation of the Minister of Health who shall determine his qualification. He shall receive an annual compensation as fixed by existing laws for City Health Officers. The City Health Officer shall have the following powers and duties:"
SECTION 3. Effectivity. — This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
