REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5718
AN ACT AMENDING SECTIONS FOUR AND SIX OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED TWO THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED TWELVE (RE COMPOSITION OF THE BOARD OF TECHNICAL SURVEYS AND MAPS)
SECTION 1. Sections four and six of Republic Act Numbered Two thousand nine hundred twelve are hereby amended to read as follows: cd i
"Sec. 4. Composition of the Board. — The Board shall be composed of a Chairman; a vice-chairman who shall concurrently be the Executive Director of the Board; and the following as members: The Budget Commissioner, the Undersecretary of Public Works of the Department of Public Works and Communications, the Deputy Governor for Operations of the Land Authority, the Director of Lands, the Director of National Planning of the National Economic Council, the General Manager of the National Waterworks and Sewerage Authority, the Director of the Bureau of Coast and Geodetic Survey, and two members representing the surveying or geodetic, photogrammetric and civil engineering professions, who shall be appointed by the President, for a term of four years, from among those who may be recommended by representative groups or societies subject to the confirmation of the Commission on Appointments. cd
"Sec. 6. Vice-Chairman and Executive Director. — The Vice-Chairman and Executive Director shall be appointed by the president subject to the confirmation of the Commission on Appointments. He shall be a citizen of the Philippines with proven executive ability in the field of surveying and mapping, and shall have seven years experience as a senior executive with sufficient training and background in the management of mapping. He shall be familiar with the production of maps and charts specified in this Act. He shall receive an annual compensation equivalent to salary range Numbered Sixty-nine of the Wages and Position Classification Office and transportation allowance of two hundred pesos per month."
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
