AMENDMENT TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS IMPLEMENTING PRESIDENTIAL DECREE 1866 DATED 29 JUNE 1983 CODIFYING THE LAWS ON ILLEGAL/UNLAWFUL POSSESSION, MANUFACTURE, DEALING IN, ACQUISITION OR DISPOSITION OF FIREARMS, AMMUNITION OR EXPLOSIVES AND IMPOSING STIFFER PENALTIES FOR CERTAIN VIOLATIONS THEREOF AND FOR RELEVANT PURPOSE
The Rules and Regulations Implementing Presidential Decree 1866 dated 29 June 1983 are hereby further amended as indicated hereunder:
In Section 4, paragraph "g", the word "and" shall be deleted and other paragraph denominated as "i", "j", "k" and "l" shall be added therein to read as follows.
"i.. Members of the Philippine Coast Guard, Department of Transportation and Communications",
"j. Cebu Port Authority Police Force;
"k. Agents (ISOG) of the Witness Protection Program, DOJ"; and
"l. Organic Personnel of the Philippine Center on Transmittal Crime (PCTC).
Other paragraphs denominated as paragraph "m", "n", "o" and "p" shall be added to Section 5 to read as follows: HDCTAc
"m. For the Philippine Coast Guard, DOTC
"The Commandant, PCG, and The Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence (CG-2)"
"n. For the Cebu Port Authority Police Force
"General Manager".
"o. For the Witness Protection Security and Benefit Program, DOTC
"Program Director".
"p. For the Personnel of Philippine Center on Transnational Crime
"Executive Director"
Section 6 para "g" shall be corrected to read as follows:
"g. Members of the Bureau of Customs Police, Philippine Ports Authority Police Force, agents and key personnel of the Economic Intelligence and Investigation Bureau, agents and key personnel of the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation, members of the Manila International Airport Police Force, Law Enforcement Services of the Land Transportation Office (LTO), Members of the Philippine Coast Guard, DOTC, Cebu Port Authority Police Force, Agents of the Witness Protection Program, DOJ and Personnel of Philippine Center on Transnational Crime are not authorized to carry their issued firearms except while on duty with the customs, or port or zone areas of their respective operation only.
After their tour of duty, the firearm should be returned to the property custodian for safekeeping in the depository. In case of missions outside of their official stations, they may be allowed to carry their duly issued firearms provided they are covered by a MISSION ORDER in consonance with Section 5 hereof. The Mission Order shall state the period and place covered."
